FlowTime Update — A Lifetime Plan, Pause, and Editing Tasks Without Breaking Focus

flowtimepomodoroproductivity improvementtime managementflowmodoro

FlowTime now has a one-time Lifetime plan, a Pause button for stepping away, the ability to edit and switch tasks while staying in focus, and drag-to-reorder in the list view. We also made the stats more accurate and cleaned up the mobile layout.

Smaller frictions, fixed in one pass

Thank you for using FlowTime.

This update is less about adding a big new concept and more about fixing the little things that got in the way. For a focus timer, "never makes you stop and think" matters more than "has lots of features."

Concretely, we added a one-time Lifetime plan, a Pause button for stepping away, the ability to edit and switch tasks while staying in focus, and drag-to-reorder in the list view. We also made the stats more accurate and cleaned up the mobile layout.

A one-time Lifetime plan

For everyone who told us "I don't want yet another subscription," we added Lifetime — a one-time purchase you can keep using indefinitely.

  • Pay once; there is no future billing
  • Analytics are Premium-equivalent (yearly and all-time stats, unlimited export, and more)
  • Nothing to manage after purchase — no subscription to track

The regular price is $50, and we're launching it at a limited-time price of $28. If a monthly subscription isn't for you, this is an easy way in.

Checkout uses Stripe, just like our other plans, and is available from /billing.

A Pause button for stepping away

Until now, stepping away for a moment was awkward: stop the timer and your session gets cut, or leave it running and the time you were away counts as focus.

So we added Pause, which you can tap mid-session.

  • Time while paused is recorded as neither focus nor break
  • When you're back, just tap Resume and pick up where you left off

Grabbing a drink or taking a quick call no longer pollutes your records.

Edit and switch tasks without breaking focus

Previously, task actions were locked while you were focusing. If you spotted a typo or wanted to switch tasks, you had to stop first.

Now you can safely edit, switch, complete, or delete tasks while staying in focus.

  • Switch to another task and the focus so far is recorded properly, then focus continues on the new task
  • Completing or deleting the active task won't break the timer
  • Only during breaks do we still restrict these actions, to prevent accidental taps

"Keep focusing, just move your hands" now works the way you'd expect.

Drag-to-reorder in the list view

You can now reorder tasks in the list view by drag and drop, and the order is preserved after a reload.

Pull the task you want to start with to the top and organize on the spot. (The Kanban view's ordering logic is unchanged.)

More accurate stats

We revisited how the stats dashboard adds things up, making it clear what actually counts as focus time.

  • Per-task and per-project figures now use focus time only, excluding breaks
  • The header total and the per-task / per-project breakdown totals now match
  • Time you spent focusing without a task selected is shown as "No task," so it never disappears from your records

No more "the numbers are there, but the breakdown doesn't add up to the total."

Mobile layout and overall polish

  • Fixed a layout issue on /stats at phone widths where tabs and a banner overflowed the screen
  • Did a pass on UI consistency so labels read cleanly in each language

If you use the app in English, nothing changes there. We simply tightened up the rough edges.

Toward focus that never stops

FlowTime is a small app built by one person, and we fold in your feedback one piece at a time. This update was about hunting down the little snags we felt while actually using it.

If something feels off, or you have an idea that would make it easier to use, please let us know. We'll keep polishing a tool that stays out of your way.
